This weekend a wonderful movie opens in theatres… Winnie the Pooh!!! Yes, yes I am sure you are all going to see that other movie, Harry Potter, but Winnie the Pooh has something that Harry doesn’t – Knitting!!! That’s right folks there is knitting in Winnie the Pooh! Dear Kanga knits throughout the movie, which is difficult when you have no fingers only paws.
I am so proud to have worked on this film and have my craft represented in it. It is a beautiful, funny, heartfelt film that is wonderful for all ages.
Have a wonderful weekend! Enjoy some great knitting time and maybe an afternoon with a silly old bear….
I was fortunate to work on 2 amazing films during my time at Disney Feature Animation. I have already shared my experience and excitement for Tangled (which is out on DVD March 29th!!!) But the time has come for me to start sharing the 2nd film I worked on – Winnie the Pooh. There are so many reasons why I loved working on this project but most of all it was working with my Uncle. My Uncle, Dale Baer, animated the character of Owl in this movie which was his mentor’s character in the original film. It was so fun working with him and made the project even more special for me. I was also thrilled to have the experience of working on a 2d film, there is something about holding those drawings in your hand that makes it so magical, weird but true. The team on this film was amazing as well, such a wonderful, fun, and supportive group of people.
And to top off this awesome experience… there is knitting in the movie as well!!! Yes my knitter friends, Kanga knits! I’m not gonna lie, it is difficult for her to knit without any fingers but she does a great job. I am just so happy that there is knitting in both the films I worked on!
